The Challenge
The practice faced rising supply costs, especially after COVID, which significantly impacted their budget. They needed a solution to compare prices across multiple suppliers without cutting off existing relationships like Patterson. The goal was to reduce expenses while maintaining high-quality materials and improving internal processes. ZenOne provided the flexibility to price-shop and manage supply purchases more effectively.

What was the problem before ZenOne?
We had a problem with our supply costs. That was kind of the big thing. When I took over the practice. It was right after COVID. A lot of prices were going up and we were spending a lot of money on supplies. ZenOne offered a great way to be able to kind of price shop, and be able to look at the different products and see what’s going to be the best fit for our practice at any given point in time.
What was your initial reaction when you found ZenOne?
So my initial concerns and reaction were just like, how do we implement this into our processes without cutting out our existing suppliers altogether. Our goal wasn’t to switch entirely to a different platform or to a different supplier, but just finding a way to save some money as we go through this process. So ZenOne offered a way to be able to do that. We still work with Patterson and are still getting stuff from Patterson the same time, we’re still saving a lot of money utilizing Zen’s platform for some of the products that we choose not to get directly from them. We don’t get everything from one place anymore. It goes to different suppliers, but at the end of the day, it allows us to get good quality materials at lower costs for our business and for our patients.
What was the process like for getting started with ZenOne?
Mm, this probably would have went a lot faster, but I dragged my feet. Tiger is actually pretty awesome in helping us out, one of the things I wanted to do, and one of the draws that I had in working with Tiger was to actually implement these tip out bins. I’ve been wanting to do it for a really long time and just couldn’t pull the trigger. Tiger kind of kicked me in the butt. We got it done. It looks great. Patients comment on it all the time. The staff loves it, and it was just made it so much easier to just say yes to moving forward with utilizing ZenOne for for our office.
What was the final result after you started using ZenOne?
It’s been awesome. It’s been amazing to see the platform in a way that my team can actually utilize it. So it’s not me looking around shop, pricing for certain things, but I give access to my team. They look at it, and they kind of just go “Oh my gosh! We were paying this amount of money for these supplies to these people, and now we can get this for less”. It’s been really cool as far as educating the team.
In that respect, it’s brought our supply numbers down to a level that I like it to be at. And if we can squeeze a little more, we might try. But, you know, we’ve already made significant progress, and I’m super grateful for to Tiger and to ZenOne for allowing me to do this and getting me to where we are.
